FITS OUTS, STRIP OUTS
& REFURBISHMENTS
One of the areas of demolition that the Old Red Brick Company excels in is the provision of labour and equipment for a range of strip out and refurbishment projects.
Within this division, we run a team of up to 30 inhouse staff lead by senior experienced leading hands who are overseen by a dedicated manager. Our staffing structure means that we have both the manpower and management required to complete time sensitive labour-intensive jobs across a broad spectrum of projects.
Supporting our labour resources is a diverse range of plant, vehicles and equipment. We run a fleet of utes, light trucks and vans for the purposes of carting employees, equipment and materials to and from jobsites. On larger projects where high volumes of combustibles are produced and require removal, we run two hook lift trucks with a range of bin sizes to support our operations.
Our equipment ranges from standard hand tools and basic power tools, to specialised safety equipment and custom demolition equipment. Where larger equipment is required, we have skid steers and smaller excavators to help with the heavy lifting as required. We also own our own scissor lift and mobile scaffolds to facilitate projects where working at heights is required.
Our key capabilities include:
-
Back to base defit of existing commercial tenancies within single or multi-storey buildings both within and outside of the CBD;
-
Internal and external demolition works for the upgrade of schools, nursing homes and hospitals;
-
Demolition involving the removal of load bearing elements of a structure that require the installation of props and engineered supports;
-
Demolition works involving heritage buildings;
-
Demolition works involving extensive steel modification and removal including hot works by way of oxy-acetylene cutting;
-
Technically complex demolition including the removal of in situ staircases, lifts and canter levered building elements; and
-
Operating powered mobile plant on suspended slabs.
We work on projects scheduled during the day or at night. We also have the capacity and experience to run split shifts where the timeframe of the project necessitates maximising all possible working hours.
Our staff have embraced the changes within the construction industry with respect to Work Health and Safety (WH&S) over the last decade. We are well versed in standard construction site requirements such as Safe Work Method Statements, inductions and daily toolbox meetings.
Our team understands the modern building environment where maintaining a positive public image is crucial, WHS is paramount and meeting timelines is imperative. We also appreciate the need to work with other trades and the importance of establishing a strong working relationship with the builder in control of the overall project.
